WALLPAPERS
Farrow & Ball wallpapers have an exclusive quality which sets them apart from all the others. They are printed by traditional processes using Farrow & Ball water based paints. Thus they retain the beauty of the past and avoid the high VOC problems associated with printed inks. They are also fully washable. The use of paint not only increases the depth of color, but imparts a soft, chalky finish unmatched by any other medium. Additionally, and significantly, with colors drawn from our extensive paints palette, the color co-ordination from paper to paper, and paper to paint is excellent.
The dragged and striped collections are printed by the 19th century pan method, in which the paper is pulled under open-bottomed troughs full of paint. The block prints use techniques from the 18th century, each block being individually painted and pressed gently onto brushed-on ground colors.
